DESIGN AND ARCHITECTURE
The property’s unique amphitheater-like topography and its expansive, uninterrupted views of the boundless Libyan Sea served as a primary inspiration. The fundamental principle was to forge a unified entity between the built environment and the existing topography. The architecture is designed to be as visually unobtrusive and non-invasive as possible, disappearing respectfully into the Cretan landscape. The design is heavily inspired by nature, drawing upon its rich, organic architectural vocabulary and indigenous color palettes. A profound sense of locality.

Sustainability Philosophy
Sustainability is intrinsic to Beyond’s philosophy, reflecting the founders’ respect for land and resources. Integrated into the topography, green-roofed structures blend into the landscape. Native, drought-resistant planting conserves water, while local, natural materials and electric transport minimise impact. Limiting the retreat to just fourteen suites is a conscious choice to preserve the land.

A moment of worship. A magical choreography of gratitude. We are blessed with the deepest connection to Gaia through a private “Spilaion”. In Crete, caves are connected to the most ancient references of religion. The Cave becomes a magic place.
